How to Go Chemical-Free the Easy Way!

Want to be more healthy?  Eating a diet free of most common synthetic and industrialized food chemicals is a critical step in that direction. The best way to do this is to:

(1) avoid processed/packaged foods,

(2) choose organic meat and dairy products,

(3) choose organic produce for those fruit and vegetables that test high in pesticide levels,

(4) avoid eating foods from cans, and

(5) read the labels on the ingredients you choose.

Here is an at-a-glance “Avoid Whenever Possible” list*:

.

Preservatives and additives (such as MSG/monosodium glutamate, EDTA, TBHQ, Sodium Benzoate, Sulfites/Metabisulfites, BHT/BHA, etc.)

.

Food dyes/colorings (such as Yellow 5/Tartrazine, Yellow #6, Caramel coloring, Blue #1, etc.)

.

Pesticides/fungicides/insecticides (found in non-organic fresh/frozen/canned fruits and vegetables, non-organic meat, milk and dairy, non-organic almonds, almond products, and olive oil, etc.)

.

Artificial hormones, antibiotics and other animal drugs (common in non-organic meat, milk and dairy)

.

GMO/Genetically modified food (avoid those testing high in pesticides…common GMO foods include corn and corn products and products sweetened with corn, soy, beets/ and products sweetened with beet sugar, etc.)

BPA (found in canned foods—all types)
