FOOD CHEMICALS:  Sucralose* Found in Beach Water
*Chlorine (a carcinogen) is used in the production of Sucralose (or chlorinated sucrose) and is linked to a myriad of health problems.
The list of health complications for people with sensitivities to Sucralose have included gastrointestinal problems (bloating, gas, diarrhea), headaches, migraines, depression, mood swings, anxiety, angry outbursts, weight gain, respiratory/breathing difficulties, skin reactions (including urticaria and edema), vision problems, pregnancy complications, dizziness, and liver and kidney problems, to name a few.

Study to Identify Levels of Sucralose in Erie Beach Waters
Researchers investigating the presence of potentially harmful chemicals in the beach waters have added a new one to their list: Sucralose. A chlorinated form of sucrose found in artificial sweeteners, Sucralose is used in an estimated 4,500 products ranging from Halloween candies to diet sodas…
Studies suggest that approximately 95 percent of ingested Sucralose is not metabolized by the body and is excreted into the water supply…Many chlorinated compounds have been found to be toxic to humans and, while Sucralose appears to have limited toxicity, the long-term effects of exposure have yet to be determined. Common practices aimed at removing contaminants from waste water have not been shown to be successful at reducing levels of Sucralose…
According to researchers, Sucralose in the water can have repercussions like altered water taste and biological health effects…

About

A place to learn about the dangers of synthetic chemicals in the food and environment and how you can avoid them!
_____________________

As scientific researchers, authors and consultants we have studied, published, presented at scientific and professional conferences, and trained clients and the general public about the link between synthetic food chemicals, environmental chemicals and illness (including weight gain/obesity) for over a quarter of a century. Now we are excited to expand our public education efforts in this area by joining forces with a nonprofit multimedia group producing a feature-length documentary and doc-short series on synthetic chemicals in food and the environment. Also in the works: another new book on the topic--this one, a user-friendly, easy-guide to help consumers avoid synthetic and industrialized food chemicals while shopping. Please contact us for information about the documentaries as well as for information about where you can get books, articles, professional consulting and other resources on the topic.
